Сборник статей «Дети и театр» 1925 года издания является библиографической редкостью. В сборник включено шесть статей, отражающих основные вопросы развития театральной педагогики начала XX века. В тексте рецензии представлены не только восстановленные имена авторов уникального издания, но и биографические справки. Информация дает возможность в ретроспективе проследить творческий путь каждого из авторов сборника, внесших значительный вклад в становление культуры и искусства Советского государства. Н. С. Шер описывает проблемы профессионального театра и его место в жизни ребенка, пути включения театрального искусства в образовательный и воспитательный процесс. М. Д. Маркович приводит описание подлинных игр детей в детских дошкольных учреждениях (в Ленина и Троцкого, в аэроплан, в буржуев и рабочих), делится советами по организации театральных занятий с детьми посредством игры. Статью Сергея Розанова «Театр в школе» можно считать методическим руководством по организации театральной работы в образовательном учреждении. А. А. Чумаченко поднимает вопросы, связанные с репертуаром для детского театра, необходимостью создания пьес для детей, основанных на современных явлениях и событиях, включающих детей в осмысление процессов, происходящих в обществе. Создатель первого музея игрушки Н. Д. Бартрам описывает организацию кукольных театров как процесс творческой самореализации детей, подробно указывая, как и из чего создать различные виды театральных кукол, декорации, механизмы. Завершается сборник текстом Григория Рошаля о массовом празднике с практическими советами по организации детей в процессе подготовки, проведения и последующей рефлексии массового театрализованного праздника. Удивляет современность и востребованность подхода к организации праздника - изучение аудитории, подготовка «формы учета» - чек-листа события. Изданный почти сто лет назад, сборник содержит множество практических советов, аксиологически и методически полезных и неожиданно актуальных. Например, призыв Н. Шер «не строить театра детей по законам и формам театра взрослых, не делать [его] слепком с театра взрослых». Идеи, изложенные авторами почти 100 лет назад, определили дальнейшее развитие одного из направлений педагогической науки - школьной театральной педагогики. Предложенные в сборнике теоретически обоснованные принципы работы с детьми средствами игры, авторские методики организации театральной работы с детьми и подростками и сегодня актуальны как для педагогического сообщества, так и для культурологов и историков.

The collection of articles "Children and the Theater" published in 1925 is a bibliographic rarity. The collection includes six articles reflecting the main issues of the development of theater pedagogy at the beginning of the 20th century. The text of the review contains not only the restored names of the authors of the unique edition, but also biographical information. The information makes it possible in retrospect to trace the creative path of each of the authors of the collection, who made a significant contribution to the formation of the culture and art of the Soviet state. N. S. Sher describes the problems of professional theater and its place in the life of a child, ways of including theatrical art in the educational process.M. D. Markovich gives a description of the real games of children in preschool institutions (in Lenin and Trotsky, in an airplane, in bourgeois and workers), shares advice on organizing theater classes with children through play. Sergei Rozanov's article "Theatre at School" can be considered a methodological guide to organizing theater work in an educational institution.A. A. Chumachenko raises questions related to the repertoire for the children's theater, the need to create plays for children based on contemporary phenomena and events, including children in understanding the processes taking place in society. The creator of the first toy museum N. D. Bartram describes the organization of puppet theaters as a process of creative self-realization of children, indicating in detail how and from what to create various types of theatrical puppets, scenery, mechanisms.The collection ends with a text by Grigory Roshal about a mass holiday with practical advice on organizing children in the process of preparing, conducting and subsequent reflection of a mass theatrical holiday. The modernity and relevance of the approach to organizing a holiday is surprising - studying the audience, preparing an “accounting form” - an event checklist. Published almost a hundred years ago, the collection contains a lot of practical advice, axiologically and methodically useful and unexpectedly relevant. For example, N. Sher's call "not to build a theater for children according to the laws and forms of the theater of adults, not to make [it] a cast from the theater of adults." The ideas outlined by the authors almost 100 years ago determined the further development of one of the areas of pedagogical science - school theater pedagogy. The theoretically substantiated principles of working with children by means of play proposed in the collection, the author's methods for organizing theatrical work with children and adolescents are still relevant today both for the pedagogical community and for culturologists and historians.
